For those people meeting First Step Back Home eligibility requirements, the following important types of tangible assistance may be provided. What and how much an individual might receive depends on their specific needs and employment status, and also FSBH’s financial means at that time:
- Temporary placement in local motels, and shelter referrals; also case-by-case help with new permanent housing, utilities
- Daily hot meals at local FSBH-partner motel(s), provided by numerous churches and volunteer groups
- Survival food boxes if food pantries are closed (Click Here)
- Thrift shop vouchers for clothing
- Survival backpacks with underwear, toiletries (Men’s | Women’s)
- Laundry/Cleaning Baskets (Click Here)
- Cell phones (one month term) to help in job search
- Medications
- Gas, car payment help, and other car expense items
- Help with utility bills
- Bus fare
- Bicycles, when available
- Rides, as available from volunteers
